The Teaching Assistant (TA) Toolkit is a framework to support and enable teaching assistant professional growth and development. This toolkit has been developed with reference to the agreed Teaching Assistant Standards and evidence-based guidance on teaching assistant impact on pupils’ learning. It should be used as a self-reflection tool to provide a starting point for Growing Great People goal-setting.

The quality of teaching and learning in a school has a significant impact on pupils’ progress and achievement. The teaching assistant makes an important contribution to this. As a Trust, we strive to develop, grow and enhance classroom practice across our community of schools.

The TA Toolkit is divided into four domains with subdomains to support personal reflection, which include further components. These components are the detail that is required for a concise focus on improving TA effectiveness and impact with learning activities.
